Supported Rider Scheme
I spent the month of January 2014 holding a Search for a Supported Rider Competition, and received 38 fabulous enties which made it extremely difficult to choose. In the end I decided to choose 2 Amateur Event Riders to keep alongside Phil Meeking, my Supported Rider.
I am extremely excited to be supporting Phil Meeking, Nikki Goldup and Jacky Beavan this year as well as competing on my own horse Percivals Rebel.
Phil Meeking
Phil is a 60 year old event rider. Phil competes his main horse (Tilley Curtis) at BE90, Tilley is a 16 year old Thoroughbred mare. She has previously competed at BE Novice level, but has been teaching Phil the ropes of eventing. Phil and Tilley completed a full season of BE90 in 2013 and finished on a high by placing 3rd at Broadway BE and qualifying for a Regional Final in 2014. Phil aims to move up to BE100 during the 2014 season.
Nikki Goldup
Nikki is an Amateur event rider from Cambridge and competed her horse Wayward Wanderer (Wanda) at BE80 and BE90 last season, and aims to move up to BE100 after her Regional Final this season. Nikki and Wanda's results from the 2013 season include a 1st BE80 at Keysoe and a 3rd BE90 at Little Downham Horse Trials.
Jacky Beavan
Jacky is an Amateur event rider based in Retford, North Notts. Jacky competes her horse Atui at BE Novice and CCI*. She aims to be competing at Intermediate and CCI** by the end of the 2014 season. Jacky and Atui's results from 2013 include a BE Novice 2nd at Shelford Manor and a BE Novice 6th at Smiths Lawn.
